  2. Nov 26 & Dec 3 Cantonese Mission Event

    • We want to invite you to join our upcoming Cantonese Ministry Mission Department events, which will be held both in-person and online. The theme will be "Gospel Reflection, Fellowship in the Word / 福音再思、齊享福言(筵)."

    • We will reflect on the impact the Gospel has had on our lives and the way our daily lives have been changed by the pandemic. We will discuss the needs of ourselves, the Church and our community. Together, we hope this will be an opportunity for us to determine our ministry direction for the coming years.

      • Speaker: the Rev Kevin Wong (Incumbent, All Saint's Church, Markham)

      • Dates (In-person and Online):

        • First session: Nov 26 (Sat), 9:30 to 11:30 am

        • Second session: Dec 3 (Sat), 9:30 am to 1:30 pm (including Folksgala lunch)

      • Both events are free of charge.

      • Registration deadline: THIS SUNDAY Nov 20, 2022.

  3. 2023 Budget

    • The Finance Team would like to remind all department heads to submit their 2023 budget by NEXT Sunday November 27.

  4. Christmas Flowers

    • Every Christmas we have Christmas flowers for decoration. We encourage parishioners to order Christmas flowers at $10.00 per pot. Please ask Marian Chu for order. Christmas flowers can be taken home after the Christmas Day service.

  5. Dec 10 (Sat) St. E Christmas Party

    • We are having a Christmas Party on December 10th from 3-5 p.m.!

    • Join us for good food, carol singing, fun family games, and a lucky draw.

    • Tickets will go on sale on November 13:

      • $10 for adults,

      • $5 for children aged 5-12 and

      • free for the little ones under 4.

  7. Faith Formation 2022: Advent - The Story of Salvation (Click Here for PDF)

    • Faith Formation of the Cantonese Ministry is inviting our parishioners to relive God’s salvation story at Advent. If you are interested, please liaise with Margaret Loo or email to info@stechurch.com.

    • Here are the details:

      1. A copy of the booklet “Jesse Tree” (Chinese translation version) will be provided to each participant, who is requested to read the daily story and scriptures as scheduled in the booklet and then spend some time to meditate, reflect and pray.

      2. Four online sharing sessions (in Cantonese) will be held on the four Tuesdays during Advent.

    • These sessions will be led by Canon Li and 3 other parishioners. Together we will revisit the significance of Advent in the salvation story of God and learn to position ourselves as Christians on the Jesse Tree.

  8. Cantonese Welcoming Ministry

    • For the Cantonese Welcoming Ministry, before the end of this year, we are calling for members who would gratefully offer a little bit of their time to serve in this ministry for the coming years. For those who have a vision and a passion to serve, please directly contact Chivas Chu at 416-568-8351 and leave him a message, he would get back to you with more details.

  9. “Theology and Politics” Course Taught by Bishop Patrick Yu

    • Autumn is here and leaves are starting to change colours. The Cantonese Ministry is in the process of organizing some wonderful educational sessions for you to take part in. The topic for the course is called “Theology and Politics”, all four online sessions (in Cantonese and English) will be conducted by Bishop Patrick Yu in January 2023. We shall also invite other three Chinese Anglican churches to participate.

    • Each session will be 2 hours, through the discussion and bible study, you will have a better understanding of “What is politic from a Christian’s Point of View?”

    • Two separate courses for Chinese and English,

    • Evenings by Zoom @ 7:30 p.m.

    • English course dates - 1/12, 19, 26 and 2/2 (English on Thursdays)

    • Chinese course dates - 1/10, 17, 24 and 31 (Chinese on Tuesdays)

    • Chinese course to be taught in Cantonese.

    • Registration fees: $50 per person

    • Registration will be opened starting October
