The Anglican Way
A Global Community
St. Elizabeth’s is a member of the global Anglican communion. The Anglican church is one of the world’s largest denominations with over 70 million members worldwide. It proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ as passed on by the Apostolic church and proclaimed by the church Fathers. With its birth in the the 16th century reformation movement in England the Anglican church has developed its unique identity through its emphasis on both the traditional Catholic Church and Reformed Protestantism teachings. Led by the Holy Spirit, the Anglican tradition developed its tradition around these two foundations as found in the Book of Common Prayer and the 39 articles.
The Anglican Church believes in the hope, joy, and love found in the Good News in Jesus Christ. It believes all members of the Church are called to live in this truth and to bring God’s grace and truth to those in their generation making him known.
