Faith Formation 2022: Advent - The Story of Salvation (Click Here for PDF)
Faith Formation of the Cantonese Ministry is inviting our parishioners to relive God’s salvation story at Advent. If you are interested, please liaise with Margaret Loo or email to info@stechurch.com.
Here are the details:
1. A copy of the booklet “Jesse Tree” (Chinese translation version) will be provided to each participant, who is requested to read the daily story and scriptures as scheduled in the booklet and then spend some time to meditate, reflect and pray.
2. Four online sharing sessions (in Cantonese) will be held on the four Tuesdays during Advent.
These sessions will be led by Canon Li and 3 other parishioners. Together we will revisit the significance of Advent in the salvation story of God and learn to position ourselves as Christians on the Jesse Tree.

Nov 6 Special Celebration
What do these three festivals have in common: Halloween, All Saints’ Day & All Souls’ Day? They happen three days in a row!
We seldom observe All Souls’ – but in our Chinese customs, we tend the graves of our ancestors twice a year – in the spring and in the autumn – to pay our respect.
What would we do if we observe All Souls’ Day at church? One way to remember our departed loved ones is to say prayers in church for them, and/or light a candle to remember them. It is about inter-connection – they are still spiritually connected to us, even though they are no longer physically present. We also say we believe in the Communion of the Saints – what does it really mean?
Come find out on November 6, being the first Sunday of the month, we will have our bilingual, joint service at 11:00 am. Invite your family members and friends who have lost someone (it does not matter whether it is recently or further back) at the end of the sermon, light a candle to remember their loved ones. Or, as an alternative, people can write the names on a prepared card: “Today, we remember…” and offer them in a basket. It may be a very meaningful way to experience the feast of All Souls in church. One suggestion we heard is that we can specifically remember Fr. Dennis Dolloff on that Sunday.
Nov 26 & Dec 3 Cantonese Mission Event
We want to invite you to join our upcoming Cantonese Ministry Mission Department events, which will be held both in-person and online. The theme will be "Gospel Reflection, Fellowship in the Word / 福音再思、齊享福言(筵)."
We will reflect on the impact the Gospel has had on our lives and the way our daily lives have been changed by the pandemic. We will discuss the needs of ourselves, the Church and our community. Together, we hope this will be an opportunity for us to determine our ministry direction for the coming years.
