    • Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day Lent season. During this time, we commemorate Jesus spending 40 days facing Satan’s temptation. We also prepare our hearts for the passion of our Lord. Ashes remind us that “we are dust and to dust we shall return.”

    • This year’s Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, March 2, will be a combined service with St. Christopher’s. The service will be held both online and in-person in Richmond Hill.     • Ashes – if you wish to pick up a small bag of ashes to impose on your forehead during worship, please pick it up from the church on Sundays.

  2. Feb 20 Preacher at EM Morning Prayer

    • EM will have a guest preacher on Feb 20. He is Pastor Melvin Tai from St Christopher's Anglican Church. Here is a short write-up from him: I am from Singapore, married, and have 2 adult daughters. We came to Canada in 2009 for my theological training. Prior to that, I served as a missionary to Thailand, and pastored an Indonesian congregation in Singapore. On top of that, I have led many short-term mission trips to Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

    • After graduation from Master of Divinity at Wycliffe College, U of T, I served as a church planter in Toronto, as well as a parish pastor in Singapore. My interest is in liturgy and outreach work, but my greatest passion is to share a meal with friends in my house.

  3. Mar 19 English Ministry Retreat

    • All EM parishioners are invited to mark their calendars for our retreat on Saturday, March 19 from 9am - 12:30pm. There will be a children's programme, too. Registration will begin soon.

  4. Lent Bible Study (English)

    • English Ministry Monday Bible Study will study "Toward the Sunrise" for Lent. Materials will be sent to everyone in EM via email. Those who wish to meet can join on Mondays at 8pm starting March 6 until April 4.

  5. Plans for returning to in-person services

    • Feb 13 – Cantonese Online Service where those on service roster can come to church to prepare

    • Feb 20 – Cantonese Service re-open for online & in-person service

    • Feb 27 – 11am Joint Holy Communion & Baptism Online & In-person Service

    • Mar 20 – English Online Service where those on service roster can come to church to prepare

    • Apr 3 – English Service re-open for online & in-person service

  6. Outreach & Caring – Level-3 face masks available to those in need

    • As a way to help those in our community, we have purchased 40 boxes of level-3 face masks (40 per box) that are available for free to parishioners in need. Please contact the corporate team, the Cantonese Caring ministry or your fellowship group leader if you or someone you know would like to receive a box.

  7. St. E 30th Anniversary Planning Committee

    • This year will be St. Elizabeth’s 30th We are looking for volunteers to form this committee to plan and coordinate celebration.

    • This committee will hold their first meeting on March 12 at 10am through Zoom.

    • We are looking for a member from each of the Cantonese fellowship groups and 1-2 members from each of the Mandarin & English Ministries to join this committee along with the corporate team and the 3 ministry chairs or their delegates. Please contact the corporate team or your ministry chairs if interested.

  9. Pre-Vestry and Vestry Meetings

    • Our next annual vestry to be on Sun Feb 20, 2022 at 1:30pm

    • Pre-Vestry online meeting on Sat Feb 19, 2022 at 10am for anyone with questions to help the leadership prepare for Vestry

    • Church members must meet with conditions stated in the Diocese Canon to be eligible to vote in Vestry Meeting. According to the Diocese Canon 14, voting members need to declare the following: "I solemnly declare that I have been a member of the Anglican Church of Canada and of this congregation for at least three (3) months, that I have attended regularly scheduled services of worship with this congregation at least three (3) times in the past year, that I am of the full age of sixteen (16) years and that I have not voted as a member of any other vestry during the previous three (3) months, nor do I intend to vote in any other vestry during the ensuing year".
